Antoni Tong, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Smartville, a company developing solutions for high-value, scalable EV battery circularity. He is a leading expert in battery energy storage system control, management, and their integration with grid modernization, renewable power sources, and electrified transportation. Dr. Tong’s previous work includes serving as a research scientist at the University of California, San Diego, where he led over $14 million project portfolio advancing energy storage systems across various emerging battery technologies. He also pioneered research, development, and commercialization of EV battery repurposing solutions, and led projects with Nissan, BMW, Cummins.
