Michael Brasseur Chief Strategy Officer Saab Inc: Michael Brasseur is Saab, Inc’s Chief Strategy Officer. Brasseur was the founder and first Commodore of the U.S. Navy’s Task Force 59, a first of it’s kind organization dedicated to the rapid integration of robotics and artificial intelligence into 5th Fleet operations.
In the newly created Chief Strategy Officer role, Brasseur helps Saab leverage emerging disruptive technologies. Brasseur will work closely across government, industry and academia to help realize Saab’s strategic goals and customer needs.
Michael Brasseur is recently retired after 26 years of service in the United States Navy. Brasseur served at all levels of government, including the White House, Pentagon and NATO. He commanded two warships (Fort Worth LCS – 3 & Whirlwind PC – 11) and served on four others.
Brasseur is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.S. Chemistry), George Washington University (M.A. Organizational Management) and The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (M.A. International Relations) and is an Honorary Practice Fellow at the Imperial College of London’s Institute for Security Science and Technology. He also launched and co-chairs the NATO Maritime Unmanned Systems Innovation Advisory Board (IAB). His writings on leadership and emerging disruptive technologies have appeared in The Hill, Atlantic Council, Defense News, and the U.S. Naval Institute, among other well-respected publications.
