Amir
M. Rahmani is a Professor of Nursing and Computer Science at the University of
California, Irvine (UCI). He is also the co-founder and co-director of the
Institute for Future Health, a campus-wide Organized Research Unit at UCI, and
the co-founder of Centralive (www.centralive.health), a startup focused on
enabling personalized clinical trials and remote patient care. Professor
Rahmani’s research interests span AI in healthcare, ubiquitous computing,
AI-powered bio-signal processing, health informatics, and big health data
analytics. He has led numerous projects funded by NSF, NIH, the Academy of
Finland, and the European Commission, including Smart Pain Assessment,
Community-Centered Care, Family-Centered Maternity Care, Stress Management in
Adolescents, and Remote Monitoring for Elderly and Family Caregivers. With over
350 peer-reviewed publications, he serves as the associate editor-in-chief of
ACM Transactions on Computing for Healthcare and Frontiers in Wearable
Electronics. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Nature Scientific
Reports. Professor Rahmani is recognized as a distinguished member of the ACM
and a senior member of the IEEE.
